Kelenic Damage Control
With the recent decision by Major League Baseball to push back the triple-A season back until the start of May, the Mariners essentially have no choice but to break camp with the club’s most exciting prospect is recent memory; Jarred Kelenic. Kelenic to this point has been more than as good as advertised and with the recent Kevin Mather comments who completely put a huge wrench in the progress of the Mariners’ rebuild and image across the league.. The Mariners are in complete and utter damage control with their relationship with Jarred Kelenic. Plain and simple, Kelenic should be in the lineup as an everyday player this season, including opening day. Which is exciting but unfortunate that they won’t be able to garner that extra year of club control like we have seen with past top prospects across the league.
